Malinda Mata is Senior Counsel to the firm. She is a skilled trial attorney whose practice has included both civil and commercial litigation and is now focused primarily on family law matters. Malinda has represented clients in a variety of cases ranging from complex multi-party lawsuits to individual claims involving construction defects, family law, contracts, real estate, collections, and equine law. She also provides corporate counsel to mid-size and small businesses with active participation in daily management, including contract negotiations and preparation, regulatory compliance, real estate transactions, advertising and marketing legal review, construction and project development, mergers and acquisitions, employee/labor policies, as well as equine-law issues. Malinda grew up in Georgia and received her Bachelor of Arts from Emory University. She moved to Texas in 1994, received her J.D. from South Texas College of Law, and has been in private practice since 2004. In addition to practicing law, Malinda is an avid dressage rider and horsewoman. She owns and manages Yeguada de Mali, her boutique breeding and training farm devoted to the Lusitano horse.
Tyler D. Crowe graduated from the University of Oklahoma receiving a degree in Business Administration as an Energy Management major while also receiving a minor in Constitutional Studies. He received his Juris Doctorate from the University of Oklahoma College of Law in 2017. He is a member of the Oklahoma Bar Association. Mr. Crowe’s primary practice while living in Oklahoma was oil and gas with an emphasis on title opinions but has corporate law, criminal law, worker’s compensation, and personal injury experience. Mr. Crowe relocated to Texas in 2021 where he studied for the Texas Bar and upon passing in October 2021, became a family law lawyer at C.E. Borman & Associates.
William graduated from the University of Texas with a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy and History in 2012. He received his Juris Doctorate from Texas Tech University School of Law in 2016. While in law school, William had to privilege to intern at the Texas Supreme Court under the Honorable Phil Johnson. Prior to coming on board at C.E. Borman & Associates, he worked at Lone Star Legal Aid assisting primarily clients who had survived domestic violence with their family and property law needs. William has experience guiding clients through the challenging landscape of divorce and child custody litigation which made him a perfect fit to join the firm.
Involved in all aspects of our family law casework, Lori drafts pleadings and correspondence, schedules mediation, meets with clients, communicates with service providers, and schedules court hearings. Lori is a graduate of the Legal Assistant program at Blinn College and has been an invaluable part of our team since 2014. Lori is knowledgeable about not only the law but also the dynamics of litigation, enabling her to work hand in hand with our attorneys throughout the preparation and presentation of your case.
Janet graduated from California State University, Fullerton with a BA in Liberal Studies and graduated from Sam Houston State University with a Master of Arts in Counseling. Janet meets with potential new clients to discuss details of their cases and educate them on the services we provide before new clients sign on at our law firm. The free needs assessment is the first step every client takes at our firm, and she checks in periodically throughout the case to make sure everything is going well.
Jamie has been working in family law since 2006. She started at C.E. Borman in 2021 as a discovery paralegal. She requests and prepares the required documents necessary for your case. At the beginning of 2023, she also took on scheduling responsibilities which includes scheduling mediation, notifying all parties, saving court documents into respective folders, and sending out court-signed documents to clients.
Lauren is a certified mediator in Texas and will graduate from the Paralegal program at Blinn in May 2023. She is the client liaison and a free point of contact for clients. Lauren gives status updates and gets answers to questions from attorneys and paralegals working on your case.
Addison graduated from Texas A&M University in May 2021 with a BBA in Marketing. She worked as a marketing assistant at C.E. Borman during her senior year of college, then returned to College Station to be the Director of Sales & Marketing at the firm in 2022. She coordinates the community events, advertising efforts, social media campaigns, and branding of the firm.
When you call our law firm, the first person you will hear is Makenzy. Friendly and experienced, Makenzy is our first point of contact who manages the front office area and directs communication within our office, taking messages and sending your call to the appropriate person. Makenzy schedules appointments with our attorneys and transmits important documents and messages to clients. She is diligent in managing our office calendar and maintaining information sent in by clients.
